How to test Pay Reconcile
Pay Reconcile applies collective-agreement rules as written. Give it a sanitized work history and it independently reconstructs gross income, year by year, then compares the result with T4 Box 14.
Enter the demo token
Enter DEMO-1 in the Access Token box.
Choose a test file
Start with one of the supplied EC, FB or FS sample hours files. Pay Reconcile identifies the collective agreement from the file name.
Use no personally identifiable employee information
Pay Reconcile does not need the employee's name, SIN, address or employee number. Check the certification confirming that the test file contains no personally identifiable employee information.
Run Reconciliation
Click RUN RECONCILIATION. Processing normally takes only seconds.
Read the result
Start with the T4 Reconciliation Summary. It shows the computed gross income, pensionable earnings, T4 Box 14 and the difference, year by year. The detailed computational report remains underneath for examination.
Don't just run the sample — challenge it
The supplied files demonstrate the portal. The more important test is whether Pay Reconcile gets the collective agreement right.
Make a copy of a sample file and construct a sanitized case involving, for example:
- overtime;
- acting pay;
- allowances;
- leave;
- unusual hours or dates; or
- another provision of the applicable collective agreement.
If you believe the calculation is wrong, identify the provision and the expected result. That is useful evidence and the implementation can be examined.
The test is whether Pay Reconcile agrees with the collective agreement.
